Classes have now been out at my university for over a month and we are halfway through the first session of summer classes. This summer I am a teaching assistant for Intro Bio 2, and it is taking almost the entirety of my time and energy. I love teaching, and the students this summer have been great and I will add this is the smallest class I have ever worked with (only 35 students!)
Needless to say, I’m not getting as much done in my research (though I’m chugging through it) or in my personal life as I would like to be. And yet, all I can think about are the joys of summer. I’ve started my vegetable garden, bought a new swimsuit, and am getting ready for a camping trip! And reading! I can’t forget to mention summer reading! I have a slightly ambitious list of books I am hoping to read this summer.
I’m sure the list will grow, but here is where it sits at the moment:
Advanced Reader Copies:
Darwin Comes to Town by Menno Schilthuizen
The Truth About Animals by Lucy Cooke
Blood Runs Cold by Dylan Young
Night Beast by Ruth Joffre
Bring Me Back by B. A. Paris
New Releases:
Does It Fart? by Dani Rabaiotti and Nick Caruso
She Has Her Mother’s Laugh by Carl Zimmer
Books I’ve Been Meaning To Read For Forever:
We Have No Idea by Jorge Cham and Daniel Whiteson
Rainbow Dust by Peter Marren
Men Without Women by Haruki Murakami
The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich
What are you reading this summer? Any suggestions to add to my list? Haha!
