Earlier this year, I reviewed the literary masterpiece Does It Fart? and the authors are back for round two… Or is it number two? Welcome to True or Poo?!

Have you ever wondered if there were plants that ate shrew poop? How about if a platypus has a stomach? Maybe you’ve tossed and turned at night pondering the great mystery of why wombats have cuboidal poop. Such are the daily struggles of our existence. But fret no more! All of the questions are before you in this holy grail of a book.

True or Poo? tackles old-wives tales, common misconceptions, and topics that are thought to be fact in regards to the animal kingdom. And then adds a sprinkle of facts that nobody in their right mind of should have heard before, but I have no regrets in making space to memorize now that I know such things exist. This is the book that will make you the light of the party and amaze, or disgust, everyone you know.

And the illustrations, how could I forget to mention the illustrations?! From the formidable Ethan Kocak come page after page of hilarious doodles to match the information and truly, er, bring them to life? This is such a fast read and I cannot recommend it enough!!

Overall, 4/5 moose

  1. This type of book fascinates me hahaha

I still marvel at humanity’s obsession with poo, but mostly with life’s miseries. I think I’d like this one too, and am especially intrigued about the pictures!

    Wonderful review, Melissa 😊❤️
