It’s Wednesday again, and you know what that means! It’s time for Top 5 Wednesday! Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam (Thoughts on Tomes) featuring a variety of topics. Information can be found at the Goodreads page.
This week, the prompt is items that are on my book or book-related wish list. While I try not to make wish lists (because they get waaaaaay out of hand), there are always books or book items I have my eye on. I feel like I would be a bad reader if I didn’t haha. Here are the items I most wish I had:
1. Illustrated Harry Potter
Believe it or not, I do not have my own copies of the Harry Potter series. My mom kept them when I moved out! Haha. But that’s okay, especially now that the illustrated copies are slowly coming out. They are seriously the most beautiful books I think I have ever seen. I have the first already, but the second and third are now available.
2. Literary Candles
I love to light candles in my favorite scents while I am reading to help soothe my mind. My local library has a collection of candles that are modeled after classic literature. I love that idea, and think it would be great to have smells associated with the books I’m reading!
3. Kindle Unlimited
I don’t think at this point in my life I can justify subscribing to Kindle Unlimited out of my own pocket, but if I were gifted a subscription, I would surely take advantage of all of the books I could read for free!
4. Haruki Murakami books
I have been slowly growing my collection of Murakami’s books and since he is my favorite author of allllllll time, my goal is to one day collect them all. I am well on my way, but there are some noticeable pieces missing, like my favorite short story collection After the Quake and his newest novel Killing Commendatore.
5. Laini Taylor book tour in Pittsburgh
There is nothing more heartbreaking than when a book comes out and you watch the author travel all around the world to book events and they don’t come anywhere near your hometown. That’s how I felt this year with Muse of Nightmares release as I watch Laini Taylor in all of these great locations, but nowhere close to Pittsburgh. I might have shed a small tear. Pittsburgh is a great place and we love authors. Please visit T.T

Well, I think that about wraps up my literary wish list. Some items I’m holding out more hope for than others 😉 What are you hoping for this year?
